Training for Trainers

GUNG HO!®

Creating a Culture of Excellence

The Gung Ho!® program, based on the best-selling book Gung Ho! by Ken Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles, provides leaders with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to build a Gung Ho! organization. Gung Ho! organizations encourage the sharing of information; provide alignment with organizational purpose, values, and goals; allow frontline decision making; and celebrate successes. It has been recognized by Human Resource Executive magazine as one of the top 10 training programs in the United States. The principles and action planning are taught through using case studies, small and large group interaction, and discussion. Participants develop their own action plans for each principle and present them to a small group for refinement and feedback. Learning objectives of the program include:
  • Apply the three Gung Ho! principles
  • Discover participants' teams' Gung Ho! Quotient (GHQ) and use this assessment tool to identify and analyze gaps between current reality and best practices
  • Clarify participants' personal purpose and values, and explore how these align with the organization’s purpose and values
  • Develop an action plan, based on the progressive completion of the three principles, for making Gung Ho! a reality within their sphere of influence in your organization and beyond
  • Learn how to build a corporate culture that improves the quality of life for employees and customers
Our Training for Trainers (T4T) session prepares prospective trainers to roll out Gung Ho! into their organizations.

T4T Learning Objectives:

  • Ground trainers and leaders in the facilitation and implementation process through participation in training activities
  • Provide extensive opportunities to practice teaching using the Gung Ho! Facilitator Guide, and follow up with specific feedback on presentations
  • Familiarize trainers with resource materials and how they are used to support training, including videos, assessments, and implementation plans
  • Design an implementation strategy
  • Discuss other training issues, including measurement of training effectiveness, design formats, and follow-up strategies
