Relationship-Building Basics
Every day in every workplace, we encounter people who don’t listen or who can’t communicate well. Many of them avoid conflict and therefore avoid giving feedback altogether, especially when the feedback is difficult to deliver. Mastering the art of listening, feedback, challenging conversations, and building trust is crucial to having successful relationships at work and at home, for individuals and especially for managers.
Programs on the GSA
Building Trust
The Blanchard Building Trust program creates awareness of and sensitivity to the behaviors that influence trust and teaches trust building and sustaining strategies.
Challenging Conversations
Challenging Conversations is based on the flexible five-step SPEAK Model. It helps participants learn to communicate without alienating others and listen even if they are “triggered” by what they are hearing.
Giving Feedback
Feedback is a critical element in coaching and developing others. To give effective feedback, people need to develop some very specific communication skills.
Listening
This training program will develop the skills of an effective listener. It will help examine and expand the repertoire of what to listen for. It will help participants learn to listen with the intent of being influenced and help them master the skills of nonverbal listening—inquiring, paraphrasing, and summarizing feelings.
Make sure that participants hone their relationship-building basics. These half-day learning programs help grow confidence in managing every relationship that matters. These are foundational leadership skills, and they will serve training participants for a lifetime.
